Queens Library e-book patrons have good taste.
There are no available copies of Orwell’s 1984, and 4 patrons are on the waiting list. There are no available copies of Murakami’s 1Q84, and 126 (!!) patrons are on the waiting list. There are no available copies of Tea Obreht’s The Tiger’s Wife, and 41 patrons are on the waiting list. 9 people are waiting for A Visit From the Goon Squad; 20 want Cutting for Stone. 24 people are in line for a bundle of the first 4 books from the Song of Fire and Ice series, but I scoff because the loan period is 7 days, or at least it was when last I checked out an e-book — George RR Martin writes long!
The digital-loan landing page is here; you can check out e-books for free and get them delivered to your e-reader if you have a Queens Library card.
